 Good afternoon,  ** For next week: On Tuesday June 2, we will be going on a community walk to Fish Creek Park with our Indigenous Elder, Hal Eagletail. It will take about 40 minutes to walk there, and 40 minutes to walk back. Please be sure that your child has appropriate footwear, sunscreen, a water bottle, and appropriate clothing for the weather.  **On Wednesday June 3, we will be going to the Zoo. Again, please ensure your child is dressed appropriately.  Thank you for reading our classroom blog. Here are some highlights of our week: Math: - we practiced converting fractions to decimals and vice versa - we played Blooket to practice converting fractions and decimals - we practice simplifying fractions daily in our Mad Minutes Literacy: - we practiced plurals. For example, if a word ends with y, drop the y and add ies.  - we learned a poem and have been practicing presenting it for the volunteer tea - we've practiced our typing skills using Dance Mat Typing ...

 Good afternoon,  We enjoyed our community walk today. From now until the end of the year, since the weather is nicer, we may go for community walks from time to time. If you have plans to pick your child up early from school, or bring them late, please be sure to let us know so we can ensure your child is not on a walk at that time.  Here are some highlights from our week: Wellness: We have spent time learning about personal responsibility and respect.  We learned about the four steps to accepting consequences for our actions (positive and negative) 1. Say "Thank you" if you are being rewarded. 2. If you get in trouble, say "okay" in a calm voice and don't argue. 3. If you feel upset, use a preferred calming tool. 4. Follow instructions from an adult for how to make things better.  Math: - finished addition and subtraction of decimal place value.
