Friday June 12

 Good afternoon,

Here are some highlights from last week:

Math:

We focused on Geometry and Angles. So far we've done a review of polygons (sides, angles, vertices), and geometric properties. Then we learned about angles (acute, obtuse, right and straight) and their relationships and how to use a protractor to measure angles. We also learned about complementary and supplementary angles. Ask your child if they can explain all of this to you!

Literacy:

We focused on synonyms and antonyms. We learned a bit more about poetry. We practiced our quick writes. Ask your child how many words they were able to write in 15 minutes.

Social Studies:

We learned about the Fathers of Confederation. So far we have learned about Sir John A. Macdonald and Sir George Etienne-Cartier. Next week we will learn more about George Brown.

We have been working on some artwork for our Grade 4 Farewell, which will be held next Friday, June 19 at 11:00am until 11:45am.

Please return ALL library books so they can be put away before the end of the year.

Have a great weekend!
